Expedition 1000 Journeys
Between April 3rd and May 22nd 2014 Dave Cornthwaite travelled 2115 miles in consecutive endurance challenges, separated by only 7 days.
He pedalled and sailed 1009 miles across the Atacama Desert in Chile on a Whike, then rode 1106 miles on an ICE Trike, from Germersheim, Germany to Cornwall, England. These were the 9th and 10th journeys of Dave's Expedition1000 project, which entail 25 journeys of 1000 miles or more, each using a different form of non-motorised transport.
In Chile, he was joined for the full distance by Jamie Fulbrook and Ned Aufenast who also road Whikes, and although the European ICE Trike journey was solo it became a Forrest Gump-like affair, with over 40 people amassing over 1000 miles between them as they joined Dave on the road.
These were the 9th and 10th editions of his 1000 mile endurance journeys, using non-motorised transport.
